We are currently focusing our work on four key areas of fish habitat and ocean protection:
We are working to stop impacts from oil pipeline, oil tanker and other B.C. energy projects.
Salmon farming can harm wild salmon through the spread of sea lice and diseases, particularly out-migrating wild juvenile salmon.
There are a number of marine planning initiatives on the B.C. coast and we are fully involved working to ensure that the concerns of commercial fishermen are brought to the table and integrated into future marine plans.
We have published two popular guides: one shows how to run your commercial fish boat in a way that minimizes harm to the ocean and fish stocks; the other gives tips on fuel efficiency which cuts down on greenhouse gas emissions.
