Sewage Pollution

Sewage Pollution is one of the largest water pollution issues in Canada.

Sewage Pollution is one of the largest water pollution issues in Canada. Our coastal cities are the worst, many have only primary treatment, some have no treatment at all. For details see our

National Sewage Report Card

Greater Victoria discharge 130 million litres of raw sewage daily into the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Greater Vancouver's discharges at Iona and Lions Gate are treated only to remove solids. Sewage pollution is toxic to salmon and other fish.
