Sewage Pollution

Sewage pollution is toxic to salmon and other fish and is one of the largest water pollution issues in Canada.

Our coastal cities are the worst, many have only primary treatment, some have no treatment at all.

For a detailed view of sewage treatment at major cities across Canada see our National Sewage Report Card.

Greater Victoria discharge 130 million litres of raw sewage daily into the Strait of Juan de Fuca.G

reater Vancouver's discharges at Iona and Lions Gate are treated only to remove solids.
