Streams provide essential habitat for salmon and for many other plant and animal species. Protecting and enhancing these important corridors is important work. You can help protect your local stream by:

              • Organize a stream clean-up day
              • Monitor water quality, animals and plant
              • Get involved in watershed planning
              • Initiate a restoration project

You can learn more about stream stewardship by joining the Pacific Streamkeepers Foundation or connecting with your local Fisheries and Oceans community stewardship officer. An excellent US program to follow is Adopt-A-Stream Foundation's.
