Want to make your voice heard on protecting fish and fish habitat on the B.C. coast?
Write a letter to your provincial MLA or your federal MP about the issue you are most concerned about! You can find their contact information here:
Provincial Members of the Legislative Assembly
Federal Members of Parliament
Here is an example of a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. It was sent to the Prime Minister June 5, 2012 by both the T. Buck Suzuki Environmental Foundation and the United Fishermen and Allied Workers' Union-CAW to make clear that proposed changes to the habitat protection provisions in the Fisheries Act will seriously weaken fish habitat protection.
You could also write a short Letter to the Editor on why fish habitat needs to be protected – here are some emails for the major newspapers: (regional and local papers are even more likely to print your letter!)
