BC Young Fisherman's Network
The B.C. Young Fishermen’s Network (BCYFN) was started by a group of fishers in 2012. The BCYFN aims to foster learning, networking, and growth between young fishermen and women on the B.C. coast, with a focus on building community between fishers and industry leaders. We offer learning opportunities for fishers, opportunities for them to access experts, resources, and highlight their stories.
Harvester Resources
It’s our goal to bridge connections between those learning and growing in the B.C. commercial fishing industry with the support, knowledge and resources they need.
The following resource directory is our effort to provide a hub for all types of support you may need throughout your career. From education to business development, health support to how-to’s, licensing to legal advice.
The BCYFN Gathering
The B.C. Young Fishermen's Network Gathering is an event that brings together commercial fishermen along the West Coast. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and community-building among emerging entrants, seasoned veterans, industry experts, and association representatives. Through workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions, attendees gain valuable insights, share experiences, and explore opportunities in the fishing industry.
